Food Safety
Industrial livestock production methods are accompanied by an unsettling variety of food safety problems including meat contaminated with pathogens, hormone use and antibiotic resistance. There are also concerns that industrially raised meat is higher in fat content and animals transported long distances produce meat that is dark, firm and dry due to stress-related excessive lactic acid build up in the muscles.
